IXPS foam is a new surfboard core material, it is developed from extruded polystyrene (XPS) by Gudang company, it has excellent physical properties, main characteristic as follows:

  • Bright white rigid foam.
  • Closed cell, completely consistent density.
  • No delamination. More wide temperature range than traditional XPS foam.
  • More durable, lighter, flexible than PU or EPS foam.
  • It is a recyclable and more environment friendly material.
  • No water absorption and absorbs less resin.
  • More high strength-to-weight ratio than traditional PU or EPS foam, the shortboards need not fiberglass. the funboards just need 1x6oz or 1x4oz fiberglass on the top and bottom. It will greatly reduced the weight of surfboard.
